County commissioners lead a good-faith effort by hardworking stakeholders with diverse aims to resolve the wilderness study area issue — a fact critical broadsides have failed to acknowledge.
Pete Obermueller is the executive director of the Wyoming County Commissioners Association, a post he has held since November 2013. As executive director, his duties include representing the state’s county commissioners before the Wyoming State Legislature, working collaboratively with the Wyoming governor’s office and other state agencies on local government issues, and providing outreach and guidance to county leaders across the state.
Before his position at the WCCA, Obermueller was the legislative director to U.S. Rep. Cynthia Lummis (R). He also served as the executive director of the Congressional Western Caucus, a legislative group composed of members of the U.S. House of Representatives who promote Western and rural interests in Washington, D.C.
A Casper native, Obermueller is a graduate of the University of Minnesota and holds a master’s degree in public policy.
