Lawmakers who write the state’s budget took a field trip Thursday. Members of the Joint Appropriations Committee were picked up by a Laramie County School District #1 yellow school bus during their midday break from crafting the state’s budget and working various finance-related pieces of legislation. They left the Jonah Business Center, Wyoming’s temporary capitol building, and traveled to a local elementary school to survey maintenance concerns at the request of House Appropriations Committee Chairman Bob Nicholas.
In the photo, Sen. Dan Dockstader looks at the ground as he heads towards the bus stairs. Meanwhile, the bus driver smiles, perhaps at the thought of the distinguished pupils in her charge for the next hour.
