Public can comment on federal oil and gas lease sales

The Bureau of Land Management has schedule two competitive federal oil and gas lease sales for February 2013, and public comment periods are open regarding both sales.

The High Plains District lease sale may include up to 100 parcels covering some 55,000 acres in northeast Wyoming. A draft environmental assessment for that sale is available online. Mail or deliver written comments to: Mike Robinson, High Plains District Office, 2987 Prospector Drive, Casper, WY 82604. Comments can be e-mailed to [email protected] with “February 2013 Lease Parcels” in the subject line. Comments will be accepted until August 22, 2012.

For more information on the High Plains sale, contact Mike Robinson at (307) 261-7520 or e-mail [email protected].

The Wind River/Bighorn Basin District oil and gas lease sale may include up to 402 federal lease parcels in north-central Wyoming. A draft environmental assessment of that sale is also available online. Email comments to [email protected] with “February 2013 Lease Parcels” in the subject line. Mail written comments to Stuart Cerovski, Lander Field Office, 1335 Main Street, Lander, WY, 82520. Comments will be accepted through August 22, 2012.
