Rocky Mountain Power and UW team up to offer a public tour of wind and solar projects in Wyoming

(Press release) Want to explore a Wyoming wind farm, visit a solar project and learn more about these renewable energy technologies? Sign up for Rocky Mountain Power’s 2013 Blue Sky renewable energy project tour taking place Saturday, September 28, in partnership with the University of Wyoming’s Haub School of Environment and Natural Resources.

The guided tour will include visits to Rocky Mountain Power’s High Plains wind energy facility and a solar project at the university’s Bim Kendall House that was funded in part by Blue Sky customers.

The tour will begin at 9:30 a.m. at the University of Wyoming and will include presentations by experts about wind and solar technologies, and a bus trip to the wind farm. There will be opportunities for questions and photos. Lunch will also be provided. The tour concludes at the university at 4:30 p.m.

Rocky Mountain Power customers and their guests as well as University of Wyoming students, faculty and staff are invited to participate in the tour. Registration is open until Sept. 13 and space is limited. The cost is $35 for adults and $30 for children, with a $5 discount for Blue Sky customers and University of Wyoming students, faculty and staff.
