A federal judge returned the Yellowstone grizzly bear to the endangered species list ending state management of the species and cancelling a planned Wyoming hunting season.
Conservationists say a female bear that died in 2017 wasn’t counted when Wyoming set its hunting season and a key part of a scheduled hunt should be stopped.
Game and Fish will canvass the state starting next month to see, among other things, whether residents want a hunting season.
