A federal judge returned the Yellowstone grizzly bear to the endangered species list ending state management of the species and cancelling a planned Wyoming hunting season.
Thursday hearing could stall Wyoming hunt. Meantime license winners prepare with required hunting courses, including those who intend to “shoot ’em with a camera.”
Conservationists say a female bear that died in 2017 wasn’t counted when Wyoming set its hunting season and a key part of a scheduled hunt should be stopped.
Only 2 females would be killed in the core Demographic Monitoring Area.
