Federal agency outlined flaws in draft permit to allow Aetheon to discharge tainted Moneta oilfield water into creeks, Boysen Reservoir, Wind River.
Tuesday laid bare the chaos left by Blackjewel LLC’s shuttering of the Eagle Butte and Belle Ayr coal mines. “Those mines can’t just sit,” one miner said.
More than 100 miners visited the local Workforce Services office after Blackjewel LLC shuttered two coal mines. DEQ rushed to check empty mines for hazards.
The agency said it will work with the federal EPA — not cede local control — to clean up the air in the Upper Green River Basin
